Review

If you’re new to sewing and somewhat intimidated by large, multiple function machines featuring a thousand options, this mini table model will make it easy for you to learn how sewing machines operate. The Haitral Portable Sewing Machine includes a surprising number of convenient features for such a ridiculously low price. Of course, you’re limited to a single straight stitch, but it produces a clean, even line of stitches on a variety of fabric types.

It includes two speed options, which is great for beginners, and you have a choice between using a hand control or traditional foot pedal to begin sewing. Being such a lightweight machine, it’s not designed to handle heavier fabrics such as woolens or denim, but it gets the job done.

Stitch Options

This is the ultimate in entry-level sewing machines and includes only one stitch option: the straight stitch.

Product Features

Dual Power Operation

This truly portable sewing machine gives you the option of operating via four AA batteries (not included with purchase) when you’re in a rush or on the go, or by plugging it into a regular electrical outlet.

Dual Sewing Speeds

This handy option makes learning the ins and outs of sewing far easier for beginners of all ages. With only a low- or high-speed stitching option, the operator has better control over each sewing project. Becoming accustomed to high sewing speeds is one of the biggest hurdles for those new to sewing or those with poor eyesight.

Dual Operating Controls

The Haitral Portable machine is loaded with options designed to make sewists of all levels comfortable. This model also includes the option of starting each sewing project by using the foot pedal or a hand switch located on the front of the machine. Very convenient.

Automatic Bobbin Winder

This feature is a plus when included on full-size sewing machines! Winding the drop-in bobbin is a breeze with this time-saving feature. Just start the thread around the bobbin and hit the foot pedal.

Warranties

The Haitral portable sewing machine includes a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Verdict

This tiny tabletop sewing machine by Haitral includes some surprising features, including being able to power it using a wall outlet or 4 AA batteries. The work area is well lit thanks to a bright LED bulb and the dual speed option allows beginners to become familiar with the sewing process before moving on to a faster stitching mode. The downsides are the single stitch option and no backstitch feature. However, this little machine apparently is capable of handling fabrics from fine to average weight without problems. It does what it’s intended to do: it allows new sewists to ease into the skill without being intimidated and it’s a handy machine to have for quick fixes, even on the go. And you simply cannot beat the price!
