Review

For a small, relatively inexpensive sewing and embroidery machine with a black and white display screen, most user reviews are very positive. In addition to being user-friendly, the Hero includes an impressive array of features and built-in designs and fonts. The stitch quality is outstanding and the operating system is easy to learn. Despite being a lightweight machine, it handles all fabric types and thicknesses with ease. This true portable can go with you or fit securely into snug areas. It might lack some of the bells and whistles more expensive models offer, but it’s a great dual-operation machine for beginners or more advanced users.

Stitch Options

The EverSewn Hero includes more than 400 utility and decorative stitch options, including several block and script fonts, borders, additional decorative choices and 40 built-in embroidery designs and patterns. In addition to several straight and zig zag stitch options, the Hero offers users the choices of using stretch stitches, 6 buttonhole stitches, 3 blind hem options, 2 overcasting stitches, small darning stitches and a large array of decorative options. The stitch width is adjustable between 0.0 mm and 7.0 mm and stitch length can be adjusted from 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm. You can also use this machine to attach buttons to garments and other sewing projects.

Product Features

Embroidery Module

The EverSewn Hero features a removable embroidery module that allows you to convert the machine for free arm use. The embroidery area is 4.5 inches by 7 inches. The module also includes a USB you can use to upload new or custom embroidery designs. You can easily switch to free motion darning, embroidery or monogramming by dropping the feed dogs and attaching the embroidery foot to the machine.

LCD Interface

The backlit LCD touchscreen on this model includes several useful options, such as resizing, rotating and editing embroidery designs and fonts. The display can be changed to any of three modes: normal, memory and embroidery. This function allows you instant, focused access to sewing, embroidery or import options. Navigating through the wide range of stitch options and embroidery and monogramming designs is intuitive and relatively easy to learn.

Bobbin and Needle Thread Monitoring

The EverSewn Hero includes an automatic warning feature that alerts you if the bobbin thread is running low. This system will also stop the machine from operating if the upper thread breaks or if the spool is empty. This handy dual feature allows you to embroider or sew  without guessing or stopping to check thread levels..

Warranties

EverSewn offers a limited warranty package on the Hero that includes 10-year coverage of mechanical parts, a 1-year warranty on electrical components and a 1-year warranty on labor.

Verdict

For a compact, lightweight multiple-use machine, the EverSewn Hero includes some impressive features and options. The long arm offers you a large enough work area to tackle larger projects such as quilting and embroidering garments, curtains and table runners and an impressive eight different presser feet are included in the accessory package. Uploading embroidery designs, fonts and new stitches that have been converted into the proprietary format via the USB cable is fast and easy. While the hoop size is limited to 4.5 inches by 7 inches, you can create larger embroidered pieces with little effort. As if all that isn’t enough, you can download an instruction manual, embroidery conversion software, an embroidery reference guide, embroidery patch designs and instructions on how to make them and the conversion software guide – all free of charge.
