Review
The Janome Memory Craft 9900 is far more advanced than most other sewing/embroidery machines. The 7-piece feed dog system gives you the ultimate control while sewing and ensures smooth, even fabric feed beneath the needle. The removable free arm makes working on smaller sewing projects a breeze and the extra high lift of the presser foot ensures greater ease in manipulating larger projects. The high speeds of both the sewing mode and embroidery modes outshine many similar combo machines.
Stitch Options
This Janome model includes 200 built-in sewing stitches that range from standard utility types to decorative ones. The stitch length and width are adjustable, with a maximum length of 5mm and a max width of 9mm. Standard accessories include 10 presser feet, including a rolled hem foot, darning foot, button-sewing foot and a 1/4-inch seaming foot.
The Janome Memory Craft 9900 includes 175 built-in embroidery designs, 3 fonts and the option to create 2- and 3-letter monograms, and large work area. You also have the option of importing additional designs via the USB port. The generous embroider area can complete designs as large as 6.7 inches by 7.9 inches.

Product Features
High Resolution Touch Screen
The full-color touchscreen on the Memory Craft 9900 is intuitive, easy to see and includes a huge variety of options, including being able to customize and save stitch and embroidery design changes. The built-in 3MB of memory give you plenty of space for storing favorite designs and stitch choices.
It’s easy to make edits to both decorative stitches and color changes to designs via the touchscreen. You can rotate all decorative stitches and designs either horizontally or vertically and those stitches highlighted in pink can be rotated in increments of 90 degrees.
Automatic Threader
One of the most convenient features on any type of sewing machine is an automatic threader. There’s no more frustration when trying to thread a needle or worrying if it’s done. Simply raising the threader control will do the job for you.
Speed Control Slider
The Memory Craft 9900 includes a slider that controls the speed of the machine while in the sewing mode. This can be an advantage when first using the machine. This control also allows you to change speeds for different projects.
Built-In Timer
This sewing/embroidery machine includes a timer to the right of the LCD touchscreen. It not only tells you how long a project will take, it alerts you when the machine is about to finish an embroidery project or if a thread color change is needed.
Warranties
The Memory Craft 9900 includes a 25-year limited warranty on machine and parts defects and a 2-year warranty on all electrical components.
Verdict
The Janome Memory Craft 9900 is so loaded with automatic and interactive features that it’s hard to list everything in this review. It includes an automatic bobbin winder, cutting blade and two embroidery hoops. While not advised for beginners, those very features and the instructional DVD and instruction manual can ensure that making your way around this expensive wonder is somewhat easier to those who are already familiar with combo machines. The Janome quality is evident but the astronomical price tag can be intimidating.
